I work with children of all ages, from infancy through adolescence, and their families to better support a young person's development into a healthy, stable, and happy person. As a family therapist, I am uniquely positioned to help parents generate solutions, as well, and to support the entire family in transformation and growth. I build strong and deep relationships with the families I work with while also incorporating treatment models that are shown through clinical research to be effective. After an initial assessment, we will decide together which treatment is right for you and your family. Please know that therapy is always tailored to individuals and families, and I always make it fun and enjoyable! Kids get to have fun, play, and be creative, and there is never any shortage of laughter in sessions.

Treatment models for all ages
EARLY CHILDHOODYoung children lack the language skills to talk about and describe what they've been through, so talk therapy isn't appropriate for this age group. They need, instead, to play out the stories of their trauma and have those stories witnessed and understood by their caregivers. I am trained and certified in the evidence-based treatment model Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) which is a play therapy model involving the parent or caregiver. Read more about this model using the link below.

ELEMENTARY AGETherapy for this age group matches to their curious, playful and creative young minds, and also makes sure parents are involved. Games, activities and art help the child and family take steps towards talking about trauma, managing symptoms and building a safe and healthy life. I am trained and certified in the evidence-based treatment models Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), both of which are excellent options for developing a child's coping skills and reprocessing their trauma. Read more about these models using the links below.

TEENSTeens and young adults might need to strengthen or change their coping strategies. Being in the process of developing a personal and sexual identity, this age group might need help figuring out how their trauma fits in to how they understand their developing selves. Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), both of which are excellent options for developing a teen's coping skills and reprocessing their trauma. Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is another excellent option for teens that teaches lifelong stress and anxiety management tools. Read more about these models using the links below.

PARENTING & FAMILY THERAPY
Parenting a child who is struggling can be extremely difficult and draining. Parents often benefit from therapeutic support. I help parents process difficult emotions and develop strategies for problem-solving.
I have years of experience providing family therapy and can facilitate important experiences and conversations for families that promote healthy relationships. Relationships are an incredibly important component of healing for any condition, and sometimes problems in relationships even cause or maintain difficult symptoms. In families where old wounds or destructive patterns are at-play, family therapy can be a powerful, comforting, and energizing route to healing and growth.
